About Islamic Wallpaper
Islamic Wallpaper is part of the Muslims Around the World network, a family of Islamic websites. Each one does one job and tries to do it well.
Why we made Islamic Wallpaper
Free in every sense. Many wallpapers online are other people’s photographs and artwork used without permission, or carry quotes with no source. Ours are designed by us, in the colours of the Muslims Around the World family, with every word carrying its reference.
You can sponsor an orphan and see each month’s support. Before you give, see how UK Muslim charities rank on their public records.
How they are made
A compass and a straight edge, in code. A small program places stars and rosettes on a square or hexagonal grid, the way craftsmen have laid out patterns for centuries, then writes the words and our address on top. Each wallpaper is drawn once and kept, so it downloads quickly.
Where everything comes from
- The patterns
- Drawn by our own code (no photographs, clip art or other people’s designs): stars, rosettes, circles and lattices built from simple geometry, in the colours of the Muslims Around the World family. You are free to use them as your wallpaper.
- The words
- Quran verses are whole verses in the English of Saheeh International (© Saheeh International), checked against the data muslimsaroundtheworld.org uses, with the verse number on the wallpaper. Hadith and dhikr are in our own English with their collection and number, confirmed in the same data.
- Why only English
- Our drawing tool can’t join Arabic letters properly, and we would rather show no Arabic than broken Arabic. Each wallpaper’s page shows the verse in its Arabic.
Who runs it
Islamic Wallpaper is made by Muslims Around the World. It is free, has no third-party adverts and needs no account. Every site in the family is listed on the Muslims Around the World sites page. Before any page here is published, an automatic review checks every verse and dua against its source letter for letter, and makes sure each statement about what Islam teaches carries its reference. If you spot a mistake, please tell us through muslimsaroundtheworld.org.
Muslims Around the World is protecting the legacy of Ali Banat, may Allah have mercy on him, and every site in the family is part of that work. Read his story.
You can learn more with us at the Muslims Around the World home page: short reminders from scholars, duas with their meaning, Quran recitations and prayer times.
